3 Reasons to Be Totally Engaged in Your Church Website Redesign Process

Being the passenger on a long road trip is much different than being the driver. As a passenger, you’ve passed the reins off to another person in the hopes you’ll be able to nap, listen to music, or read a book while the driver does the majority of the work.

But when it’s your turn to drive, aren’t you grateful when your road trip buddy engages with you while you pass mile marker after mile marker? Aren’t the curious, fun-loving, interested passengers the most fun to go on adventures with?

This is kind of the same situation you’ll face when you decide to redesign your website. You can either be the average passenger (pass the wheel to the designer, speak up only when asked to, and otherwise snooze away), or you can be the engaged passenger, who’s ready to tackle this trip together.

Since you’re a nice person, you’d probably like to be the better traveling companion. But there’s some even better reasons to be involved with your website journey right from the get-go! Ask questions to make sure you’re all on the same page throughout the entire process, learn how to navigate the site so that you can take over when the church website redesign is complete, and make sure the finished product is in line with your church mission and vision. Get wholly involved in this experience!

3 Reasons to Be Totally Engaged in Your Church Website Redesign

You’re the Expert.

First off, your Ekklesia 360 project managers and design team probably don’t go to your actual church. They don’t know your personality, focus, features, or vibe nearly as well as you do. They could take a stab at it, and phone calls certainly help––but it just won’t be “right” without your involvement and guidance.

What Are Your Top Priorities?

Sure, we know our way around Ekklesia 360 blindfolded, but you’re the one who knows which features and capabilities will be essential to the everyday work of your church once the website is live. Similar to #1, we need your help here. Should your church’s “New Here” page to be the most important, accented area of your homepage? Or do you need a rockin’ event calendar to be the focal point of how your church uses the website? You need to guide us toward the “must-haves” that we can build your site around.

The Future Is In Your Hands.

While we’re partnering together in your redesign, we’ll be with you every step of the way. But after your site is launched, we’d love to see how you can embrace this powerful tool to build and grow your church. Spread the gospel in everything you do, and do it with your website!

You should be able to manage the everyday tasks and tools of your website, troubleshoot problems when you need to, and be the office expert on running the show. When you take the time to learn now (while you have expert help), you’ll learn much faster and at a more exciting, anticipatory pace than if you have to slowly teach yourself in a few months.
